Assign 2D > The Sarong < ..♪

During the lecture on Friday, after the talk from Sr. Dr. Ilias Said, we were being asked to go to Dataran Merah and started our rapid sketch by using pencils or crayons. Yet, Ar Najib was the model during the activity. After that, we were given another assignment, which was drawing about The Sarong. The task was about to draw at least 20 different types of wearing sarong by using the soft materials. Well, here's my product:

Seen - Unseen: PRIVACY ..♪

On 24 July 2009 (Friday), we were having RUS101 in E48A , while the lecturer for that day was Sr. Dr. Ilias Said. I like the class for that day. For me, Sr. Dr. Ilias Said did have an interesting teaching method during the lecture. He had given us talk, which was about SEEN-UNSEEN: PRIVACY. Well, I like the slide show. I like the drawing inside the slide show.

Firstly, he asked us a question: ARE YOU THE LUCKIEST ONE AMONG ALL THE PEOPLE AROUNG YOU? Besides, he told us about a story about a rich guy and a poor guy. Yet, my answer for the question is YES! I'M THE LUCKIEST ONE!! I knew that, my parents have put a lot of efforts on me. They do hope that I can get into university and can success with my dream in the future. Hence, I'm definately the luckiest one among all my friends. I have my parents' supports to purchase my dream and yet, I can get into USM, I can even get my 1st choice in USM, I'm slowly approching toward my dream! All my friends which were same college with me can't even get what they want in university while some of them can't even get into the university! So, am I the luckiest one? YES YES YES!!!

After I enter USM, I must start to plan our future and think about the way in our future. We can't recklessly just pass throught our life without planning everything as it will just wasting our time. Thus, what is my plan after this? Studying hard for getting Dean's list? Knowing handsome guys to find a boy friend? Start doing bussiness in Penang for buying all the branded accessaries? or...... Therefore, I need to choose the RIGHT decision for myself and I will be responsible for it. Before that, I need to list out and analyze some of the things about myself:

1. My weaknesses
2. My strengths
3. My opportunities

Hence, after I have planned and set up my goal, I mustn't give up easily! I must try my best to pursue what I want at the end and I will always be the luckiest person. Life is wonderful along with ur dreams! Don't easily give up and plan ur dream carefully.

Besides of doing our Assignment 2C - The Mask, we were given another task on this week. Hence, what were we going to do? Yet, we were going to design our own logo. The logo which we need to design must be able to show out our characteristics and our identity. Therefore, I have designed my own logo:

Assignment 2C > The Mask < ..♪

Well, after our Assignment 2B, we proceed to our next assignment. However, this assignment is totally different from others. Yet, what we need to do is to make our own mask.

Hence, my friends and I worked together to finish our mask. It was a quite interesting steps. Before that, we have found some important information and rules which can help us in our project.

Before starting, we have to prepare some materials:

1. tapioca flour
2. glue
3. newspaper/ papers
4. Water
5. poster colour

After prepared all the materials, I proceed my work with my friends. Below is the photos during the process:

step 1:

Mission BEGIN!! First, put a piece of paper on my face.. just to make sure my face won't get dirty and burst out the acne. Then, started to make the mole of my face. My friends helped me a lot with this, thanks to my friends.

Half hour later, the mole has already half dried. Hence, we put the masks on the table to let them can completely get dry.

step 2:

The next day, I tried to put paper-mache on my mole. Here's my product with all the paper-mache. Before doing, I soaked the mahjung paper for few hours and doing the glue by using flour.

step 3:

And, before making the other layers on the mask, I dried it with hair dryer. Unfortunately, by using the hair dryer, the piece of layer will break. Hence, after sticking on the last layer, I just left the mask on the table and let it dry naturally.

The process of colouring:

How to get the colour for the face? mix WHITE, BROWN, YELLOW, ORANGE, a little RED. That's all.

step 5:

After colouring, I shaded the eyebrowns on the mask. Please, don't totally use BLACK colour to shade the eyebrowns, add partial of BROWN on it.

Moreover, I drew the mouth and sketched the location of the eyes. Then, I used art knife and scissor to cut the hole on the eye's location.

Finally, mission COMPLETED!!

Assign 2B > Man-Made Structure < ..♪

After we have finished our Assignmnet 2A, then we proceed our Assignment 2B on 17 July (Friday). Actually Assignment 2B was related to Assignment 2A, we must transformed the natural structure in Assignment 2A into something which is man-made structure. But, there's some rules which need to be obeyed:

1) The paper must be tracing paper
2) All the text must in CAPITAL LETTER and in BLACK ink.
3) Create our own logo for RUS 101

Assign 2A > Natural Structure < ..♪

Yet, after we had hand in our Assignment 1B on 13 July (Monday), Prof. Mohd Najib gave us Assignment 2A. So, what is Assignment 2A about? This was a assignment which we need to find a natural object around USM and draw out the natural structure. Well, I drew a piece of leave, and below is my product:

Yesterday (20 July), Prof. Rusli Jamaluddin asked us to paint our assignment either is Assignment 2A or Assignment 2B. Hence, I have chosen my Assignment 2A and painted it with water colour. Here's my product with water colour:

Existence..♪

From Wikipedia, the word "Existence" comes from Latin word Existere. So, what does this word mean? Due to the explanation from Wikipedia, Existence means "to appear".

Why do we exist? Well, quoting from the Bible: For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. God created us.

Although we are created, we are just nothing in the universe:

But please remember, I THINK THEREFORE I AM. We are still exist in the world!

Big BANG!!! (Day 4)..♪

Date: 12 July 2009
Time: start from 2100
Location: Dataran Merah (GRAND DINNER)

Early morning, again all of us gathered together in the group. That was our last day to gather and have fun together as it was the last day for the Big Bang. After we sat row by row in our group, there was a speech given by the 4th year senior. Then, a task was given to us again. What we need to do was performed a show, movie or singing. While, our title for the performance was: Metamorphosis. What does it mean by Metamorphosis? Based on the defination from Oxford Dictionary, Metamorphosis means a complete change from a stage to another stage. Hence, my group decided to perform a fashion show after discussing.

Therefore, all of our group member were divided into 8 groups:

baby --> children --> adolescent --> teenager --> adult --> old people --> dead people --> ghost

This is the process of metamorphosis which happens to all of us as the human. All of us practised and practised the cat walk in the afternoon until the began of the Grand Dinner. We did hope that we can give the best performance for the audiences on that night.

Finally, Grand Dinner began. All of us were wearing the mask and started to get nervous. As we were the last group to give the performance, so we get some foods to eat. The foods were prepared by the seniors, and there was fried rice, fried mihun, chickens, sausages and fruits.

Each group did performed very well. I was quite enjoyed the performance. After the performance, there was an annoncement for the winners either was the futsal game, soft-landing, explorace or the performance. We were so proud that our group won the 2nd prize on th explorace. We won a hamper (^.^). Lastly, the seniors chosed the King and Queen for that night.

Finally, around 12am, our Bing Bang was ended. It was a good experience for all of us and it has became one part of our memories.

Big BANG!!! (Day 3)..♪ (2)

Date: 11 July 2009

Time: start from 2100

Location: School of HBP (Night Section - Explorace)

Explorace, is an activity which full of excited and joy. Hence, this was the section which I enjoyed very much during the Big Bang. Unfortunately, that night rained heavily too! Before I reached Dataran Merah, my pants and shoe were get totally WET!! It was a terrible night for me (>.<).

Yet, the game still be continue although it was a rainy day. Hence, the game began around 10pm. All of us were divided into 8 groups. Each of the group was given an instruction so that we can find our play station. While, I was in the group number 6, and the clue which we get was almost sounded like this: It's the 2nd home for 2nd year HBP's students. Surely, all of us can easily guess it's the studio. After we reached there, one of the senior put the creamy flour liquid onto our faces, and throw the flour onto our bodies. Finally, we had became a flour people (=.=).

No matter we were in which station, all of the station did have different games and obstacles for us. From the 1st station until the last station, I've learned many things which I can't be able find on the text book. Besides, I knew the whole school of HBP, for example:

1. The office for the school of HBP is called as Drum.
2. The location of the studios.
3. The functions inside the Pusat Sumber.
4. etc...

This was really a great activity for us. Although it's very disgusting as yolks and flour were the materials which were used inside the games and all of us where "sticked" with the yolks and flours and the end, we gain a lot of knowledge due to it.

Big BANG!!! (Day 3)..♪ (1)

Date: 11 July 2009

Time: start from 1000
Location: Dataran Merah (Afternoon Section)

It was another day for the Big Bang. Unfortunately, it's started to rain heavily in the morning, but all of us still arrived at Dataran Merah at 10am and all of us still kept on accepted another task which was given by the facilitators.

Our mission on 11 July 2009 was to design a soft landing structure. The rule was, the structure must be able to hold an egg and the egg won't break if the structure was thrown down from higher level.

Hence, after the facilitators gave us some explanation and instruction, they provided each group some of the materials. The materials were: papers, straws, plastic bag, a bundle of rope and of course there's an egg provided. Then, some of our members brought along the stationary such as marker pen, glue, scissors, and other stuffs. Hence, we began our task as soon as we get ready.

Firstly, all of us giving out our own idea and finally we decided to make a cute face as our theme.
2 hours later, our group had finished the structure and we were the earliest group to finish our job. Although in between we have make some mistake, due to our cooperate among the group members, finally, we have get over form all the obstacles.

Around 2pm, after all of us had having our lunch, we went back to Dataran Merah to do testing on each of our products. How to test it? Yes, they will throw our products from the 3rd level to the ground floor. They started test the products by following the group number, and before they test, the particular group must cheer as laud as possible.

15 out of 16 groups had pass the test, all the eggs were still in the perfect and nice form and didn't transform into yolks. Unluckily, there was a group, which was the Group 14, their egg was broken, and all the floor was get dirty because of the yolk. Hence, the leader of Group 14 cleaned up the floor after the activity. Besides, Group 10 also get their punishment after the activity because they (all of the members) were being late to attent on the time. They sang Lagu Menara Ilmu as the punishment.

Assign 1B > Me, Myself and I < ..♪

I am me, I am myself.. Yet, our assignment 1B was to describe ourself. Due to this assignment, i've known myself better than before. While, the rules were:

1. all the text must in black and white.
2. use A3 illustration board.
3. HAND IN ON MONDAY!!

After I've read and known all the rules, then I started to find my source while thinking and finding for my design. After that, I started to draw and write the text on the board carefully. Few hours later, I've finished all the work. Here's my product:

Big BANG!!! (Day 2)..♪

Date: 10 July 2009

Location: DK48B (Open Ceremony)

School of HBP's oreintation were having a open ceremony which was helt by HBP year 2 senior. On the open ceremony, they have invited 2 of the HBP's V.I.P. to come over and attended. While, the V.I.P. are our Dean of HBP, Professor Ir. Dr. Mahyuddin Ramli and Depulty Dean, Dr. Aldrin Abdullah.

During the ceremony, our Dean has taugh us how to meet suceessful in our future. He has mentioned about 4B's and 2P's. So, what is all about that? Yet, let me just say out the 4B's:

1. Image Building - build up good attitude and give good impression to other people.
2. Self Building - trying to be self-confidence and think positively.
3. Team Building - work in a group, don't work as individually.
4. Capacity Building - work hard and don't give up easily.

What is 2P's? Yet, they are:

1. Problem solving - finding the suitable ways to solving all kind of problems.
2. Future Planning - plan our future carefully.

It's true that, if all of us do have the condition above, we can meet our successful and will have our own bright future.

During the night, all of us needed to gather again in Dataran Merah at 8.30pm. After a short briefing, all of the groups were giving a task to do - to design a structure which able to stand on the ground. My group was 12th group, and we gave our group name as Colloperate, meant all the group members were very cooperate well with each other during the activity. We thinked the design together hopefully we can produce a greater product. Hence, our idea was to bring out the meaning of Big Bang. We have make 8 birds, meant we have 8 members in a group. Each bird represented each member which came from different states. As we have the same intention and determination on our future, so all of us met in USM. This was my group's idea. Besides, our cheer was very cute: cika cika puka puka, chicalaka pia pia, chicalaka pia pia, goooo~~~ Colloperate!! Just because girls were the majority in our group member, that's why we created this cutie cheer (^.^) .

Big BANG!!! (Day 1)..♪

Location: Stadium (Futsal)

This was my 1st time to watch a futsal competition, and I felt that, it's COOL~~ but, at 1st, I really don't understand what is mean of FUTSAL, and my friend told me that futsal is an indoor football game.

At the stadium, all of us as the audiences just can watched thought the outside of the field. Before the game started, all of the players were doing exercise and practising among their team. All of them did have 100% semangat to compete with each other inside the game.

Unfortunately, some of us didn't join into the competition. Hence, some of us were sitting beside and chit-chatting with friends while some of us were reading. How about the rest? Yes, the others were taking up the mobile phone and took photoes (including myself ^^). Althought I'm not a proffesional photographer, but I did capture a lot of photoes.

Finally, the game began. Firstly, there was the guys' competition. It was a very interesting game, which all the players were playing seriously inside the game without tolerate with other team. All of them looked COOL during the competition.

During the girls' competition, all of the girl players put their 100% effort on the competition. Although we think that, football this game is the guy's stuff, all of the girl players also can played very well on it too.

Well, after the RUS101 class, all of us were attending to another section of the activities which was organised by our senior. Of course, the activities was named as BIG BANG which I wrote in my content above. I was wondering why would the activity was called as "BIG BANG", and finally, I knew that, Big Bang means that the beginning of a universe. So, we are the 1st batch APEX student and we are the beginning for the journey of APEX USM, and we will build up something great in USM in these 3 years. Wow, that was an extremely SURPRISE for us. Hence, "BIG BANG" this name was totally suitable for it.

As we are the 1st year students, we were exhausted during the orientation week. We walked around the campus, listened to taklimatS. So, I'm actually afraid to have another orientation (>.<") But but but, if I think it in other way, it is true that, throught the orientation, we can know a lot of new friends and meet our seniors. Hence, I will enjoy the orientation so that the bonding between HBP's students will be tighten up.

I was here, 1st year architecture student, having my 1st lecture class in the school of Housing, Building and Planning (HBP). Well, my 1st lecture was RUS101 which was taught by Encik Wan Burhanuddin bin Wan Abidin. Before entering into the lecture hall, I felt very excited as it was my 1st step for leading me to pursue my dream to become an architect.

So, what I've learned in my 1st class? Yes, Encik Wan Burhanuddin bin Wan Abidin taugh us about "Reading". I was being so surprise when he told us that the word "read" does content a lot of explanation which I didn't notice before. Besides, he also told us an important things:

Firstly, let me explain some of the words:

Intention: A plan or purpose or an object which somebody intends or means to do
Act: To do something or take action (drawing, built and etc..)
Product: The result of something (such as building..)
Actor: Who want to do either is individual or institution (such as architect..)
Rule: Law, which allow people to make an official decision
Site: A place of land where something has happened or that is used for something

Well, intention is very important to us no matter what are we going to do. Without intention, we doesn't have any reason or energy to continue our journey. Without intention, we can't do anything else! Therefore, we must have mission and vision before doing something, so that we can pursue the greatest perfect product at the end.

Besides, every people does have the different intention. For example, for a couple of spouse, after they getting married, they will have the mission to have a baby. By the way, there are some rules which they need to follow, without following the rules, they might fail to get any of the product. Before the product is produced, site plays the important role on it, so they can purchase the perfect product in their life -- lovely baby.

So, for an example, we as a STUDENT (actor) should have the INTENTION in this second to build up the habit of reading instead of just wasting our time for doing non-sense stuffs which don't benefit us at all. After that, we must DO IT by using our eyes to SEE, using our ear to HEAR and using our heart to FEEL. These are the RULES which we need to follow together with our greatest determination. At the end, we will pursue the greatest PRODUCT in our HEART(site).
